Locally sourced from private barns, working ranches, equestrian centers, and even Montana State University's farrier school, each shoe symbolizes the grit and perseverance of the enduring Western spirit.

Our meticulous process honors that history. Each horseshoe is carefully cleaned by hand, removing dirt, debris, nails, and rust while preserving its natural shape and marks of wear. Once restored, the shoes are coated with a premium, multi-textured finish that enhances their raw form while providing a lasting foundation. Finally, they are thoughtfully adorned with authentic Western accents—from leather, silver, and turquoise, to twine, rhinestones, and other hand-selected embellishments—creating unique pieces that reflect both artistry and heritage.

Our connection to horseshoes began with my first horse, a stunning 17 hand chestnut Thoroughbred. I met Gold Trim the day after he came off the track, still wearing his racing plates—silent storytellers of his past. I held onto them, transforming them into decorated keepsakes that bridged his history with his new beginning and Western way of life. What started as a simple tribute became something more—horseshoes grew into a meaningful way to preserve memories, honor journeys, and celebrate the horses that leave their mark on us. Now, through Shod Atelier Montana, I’m grateful to share that sentiment with others who hold the same reverence for these incredible souls.
